Join the SCPW in celebrating World Wetlands Day this 02 February 2025, with this year’s theme, “Protecting Wetlands for Our Common Future”
This year, World Wetlands Day highlights the importance of working together and anticipating future needs as we create a future in which everyone can consistently enjoy the life-sustaining benefits that wetlands offer.
The SCPW promotes the wise-use of wetlands to ensure that future generations can continue to enjoy the life-sustaining benefits that wetlands offer.
Through its activities centered on involving and building the capacity of the youth (i.e. Youth Ecological Camps, Wetlands BioBlitz, Wetland Center Design Competitions, etc.), the SCPW continuously advocates for the protection of wetlands to ensure a common future and overall wellbeing.
Let’s work together to safeguard these vital ecosystems for generations to come.

Living Lakes, for our common future: World Wetlands Day 2025
The Youth remains one of the most important wetland stakeholders, and they embody idealism and the future. Targeting the youth as the focus of intervention is a long-term investment but is very strategic, as they will be the country’s future leaders. They can be very effective agents of behavioral change if their potentials are harnessed in the right direction. This quality can be tapped so that the Youth can carry wetland conservation as their rallying call.
The SCPW encourages youth to be part of wetlands conservation through communication, capacity building, education, participation, and awareness (or CEPA) projects the SCPW conducts including activities under the Living Lakes Biodiversity and Climate Project (LLBCP).
The SCPW will support and continue to celebrate World Wetlands Day and advocate for the wise use and conservation of wetlands.
