Book Launching:  Youth Eco Camp Training Manual,
A guide for conducting the SCPW Youth Ecological Camp

To celebrate the World Wetlands Day, with the theme Wetlands for Disaster Risks Reduction, the Society for the Conservation of Philippine Wetlands (SCPW) launched the Youth Eco Camp Training Manual – A guide for conducting the SCPW Youth Ecological Camp.   This SCPW publication aims to guide organizations on the conduct of an EcoCamp for an overview of ecological concepts, fundamentals of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management and Climate Change and ecosystem-based adaptation.

Sharing of experiences and lessons learned from partners – Ms. Arlene Robles of United Nations – World Food Programme and Ms. Adelina Santos-Borja of Laguna Lake Development Authority, eco-camp graduate Ms. Maria Laiya de los Reyes of PinoyME Foundation, and trainer/teacher Ms. Wilna Artitchea of Paagahan National High School in Mabitac, Laguna

 

There was sharing of experiences and lessons learned from partners, eco-camp graduate and teacher during the launching.

At the same event, the 2016 Atlas of Inland Wetlands and Classified Caves of the Biodiversity Management Bureau (BMB) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources was also launched. The launch was followed in the afternoon by a Roundtable Discussion on the Philippine-authored Ramsar Resolution XII.13.

The celebration was held at the BMB Training Center at the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center in Quezon City on 02 February 2017.
