The Social Institute for Poverty Alleviation and Governance (Villar SIPAG) in partnership with the Society for the Conservation of Philippine Wetlands, Inc. (SCPW) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – National Capital Region (DENR-NCR) celebrated World Wetlands Day last 16 February 2017 at the Las Piñas – Parañaque Critical Habitat and Eco-Tourism Area (LPPCHEA) by conducting a coastal clean-up and nature exposure walk. LPPCHEA is one of the seven wetlands in the Philippines listed by the Ramsar Convention as Wetland of International Importance.

Senator Cynthia Villar announced during the opening program that the Las Pinas- Paranaque Wetland Park designed by the SCPW design team will be developed within LPPCHEA.
