The 11th Living Lakes Conference was held on 29 October to 02 November 2006 in Nanchang, China.  With its theme Sustainable Lake Management: Balancing Agriculture and Lake Protection,  the sharing of experiences between members of the network was focused on how to balance lake protection, economic development and agricultural use of the watershed in lakes and wetland regions worldwide.

The CLEAR delegation was composed of Mr. Casimiro Ynarez and Ms. Adelina Borja of Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA), Ms. Amy Lecciones of the Society for the Conservation of Philippine Wetlands (SCPW), Ms. Jika Mendoza-Dalupan and Mr. Shan Chua of Unilever Philippines (ULP).  Joining them at the conference were Ms. Lina Tanjuatco of the Federation of River Councils in Laguna de Bay Region  and Mr. Jerry Esplanada of the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

CLEAR (Conservation of Laguna de Bay’s Environment and Resources) is a tripartite partnership of SCPW, LLDA and ULP.   With the membership of Laguna de Bay in the Living Lakes Network, CLEAR is the Living Lakes partner organization.

The Living Lakes Conference 2006 was hosted by the Global Nature Fund (GNF) and the Promotion Association for Mountain-River-Lake Regional Sustainable Development, in collaboration with the Mountain-River-Lake Development Committee of Jiangxi Province and the Local Government of Jiangxi Province, China.

Living Lakes Network is an international network and partnership whose mission is to enhance the protection, restoration and rehabilitation of lakes, wetlands, other freshwater bodies of the world and their catchment areas.
